Fall Classic Game 7 Attracts 51M Audience Members Across the US, Canadian and Japanese Regions.

The exciting extended clash that saw the Dodgers overcome the Toronto Blue Jays by one run drew a total 51 million viewers in the United States, Canadian, and Japanese markets. MLB stated this represents the highest-rated World Series Game 7 after the 1991 edition contest featuring the Twins and Atlanta Braves.

Broadcast Ratings Details

The Saturday epic contest averaged 27.33M viewers on Fox Sports networks, its Spanish-language channel and Fox’s digital services. According to ratings data, it was the second highest-rated program of the previous week.

It additionally stands as the top-rated World Series game since the 2017 edition Game 7 involving the Los Angeles Dodgers and Astros, which drew 29.07 million. This marks a 16% improvement compared to the last finale between the Nationals and Astros, which attracted 23.19 million.

In the weekly rankings, Game 6 ranked fourth, the fourth game ranked 7th, Game 5 came in 8th, and Game 3 landed in 13th place.

Global Viewership Numbers

In Canada, the climactic game recorded 11.6M watchers on Sportsnet and the French TVA Sports channel. This was the highest-rated English-language program in Canada since the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

In the Japanese market, where the deciding game started at 9 PM local time, it drew 12M. This followed last Friday’s sixth game – in which Fall Classic MVP Yamamoto allowed one run in six frames – averaged 13.1 million viewers, making it the highest-rated Fall Classic matchup on a sole broadcaster in the country.

Series Totals and Patterns

The full seven-game World Series recorded 15.71 million audience members on the Fox network, a two percent rise from last year’s Dodgers-Yankees matchup. This marks the initial instance since 2015 and 2016 that the Fall Classic has recorded audience growth for two consecutive seasons.

Including the Game 1 broadcast on Univision, the total American average reached over 16 million. The total Fall Classic viewership in Japan was 9.7 million and 8.1 million in Canada.

The full MLB Postseason on Fox and its sister channels recorded 8.09M watchers, an 8% rise over the previous year and the network’s best playoff performance since 2017.

Major League Baseball announced that the Fall Classic was televised in 203 countries and territories by forty-four broadcasting partners in sixteen different tongues.
