Ten individuals found guilty of online harassment directed at Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has found guilty ten people for carrying out the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the partner of French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The accused individuals faced accusations of disseminating fabrications regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to making defamatory statements about the husband and wife's significant age difference.

The court handed down suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the defendants. The full ruling has yet to be released.

A longstanding conspiracy theory alleging that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has existed since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.

This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons initiating a defamation lawsuit in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's identity.

Their legal filing states that Owens ignored any factual proof that refuted her assertions opting to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.

Owens has regularly repeated these allegations on her show and social networks, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would risk all her credibility on her belief that Mrs. Macron was born a man.

Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her now-husband when she was a teacher at his high school.

The couple married in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was 54.
